Daddy Cool

Looking at other ways of using halftone. I like the colour overlay below and the interesting use on the shirt.

Halftone faces

Looking as halftone on faces which is what I want to achieve for the QT brief. Bigger gaps looks really good like the eye below.

Halftone test

These are some halftone tests with me exploring the different between bigger and smaller circles and what images look like on coloured backgrounds.

Logo Type Face

I was thinking of creating a simple type logo for the box set and documentary. Below are some tests.

I wanted to pick a type face that represented Tarantinos film catalogue. It seems like everything he does is powerful strong and bold and brash so a big bold condensed type face made sense. Here are some type faces to consider.

Colour Schemes

Looking at the colour schemes that go with the films (through looking at the typography, movie posters and dvd and vhs covers)

It seems like red black and yellow are the main colours that keep on repeating. This is something to consider when trying to create a recognisable and iconic dvd boxset.

DVD Covers

Looking at DVD covers it made me think that I need to add more of the technical stuff to my dvd covers. Also it showed me that the backs of teh covers look way to busy and I want to create something  more minimal .

Typeface

As part of my penguin brief I thought I would develop and produce a whole type face which I used on the cover of Cuckoos nest. I think its a the type face isn't one that could be used a lot in the real world but for the purpose of the book cover I think it communicates the right message.
